Vinted users have been reacting angrily due to a modification that led to items being listed as the wrong size.

This online marketplace has revised its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes failing to inform every member regarding the update.

Online Platforms Backlash

Numerous buyers and vendors have taken to social media stating that platform listings now display an altered size classification versus the original listing as a result of the reclassification.

The company said the revised method more closely matches similar services.

The platform has recommended to review their products and adjust the sizing manually when needed, causing user dissatisfaction.

Measurement Approach Changes

Before the change, the sizing featured one number and one letter, for instance S/8 or M/10.

The revised method features a letter with a size spectrum like S/UK 8-10.

In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size used to be a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

Shopper Experiences

A fashion influencer, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder".

"Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.

Stephanie Gallen, located in Scotland, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as larger sizing 20-22.

"If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she said.

Manual Updates

Another shopper, based in Derby, explained she became annoyed because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products".

"This situation is especially annoying, since I have chronic health issues and platform income has been essential after experiencing income reduction," she stated.

Service Background

The app has more than 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK.

It has become a favored option versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.

This is not the initial instance that an unexpected update to the app has proved unpopular: last year, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices following member complaints.
